Location : Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Virginia nursing jobs)

Facility Setting : Med Surg Oncology, LAC Resource Team

Job Type : Travel Nurse Contract

Start Date : December 15, 2025

End Date : March 14, 2026

Contract Duration : 13 weeks (option to extend up to 16 weeks)

Shift : 12-hour night shifts

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1680-$1800

Orientation : Every other Monday

Weekend Requirement : 2-3 weekends per month, based on unit needs

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license in Virginia or Compact State (required for Virginia healthcare jobs)

Minimum 2 years of recent oncology nursing experience or related specialty

Prior travel nursing experience required

BLS certification (required)

ACLS certification (preferred)

Cerner EMR experience (preferred)

Ability to explain all gaps in work history over 90 days

Skills checklist and copy of RN license required upon submission

At least 1 year of experience required

Oncology RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to oncology patients in the Med Surg unit

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans

Administer medications, monitor patient progress, and document care using Cerner EMR

Float to other hospital units as needed, supporting facility requirements

Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training

Work 2-3 weekends per month as required by unit scheduling

Maintain compliance with all hospital policies and procedures
