A Critical Care / Trauma Physician provides comprehensive medical care to patients in a trauma-level 2 intensivist unit, handling an average of 8-12 ICU patients per day while supervising other healthcare providers. Responsibilities include managing admissions, performing necessary procedures such as central line insertions and chest tube placements, and overseeing the training of residents. The physician plays a critical role in emergency medical situations and must maintain active board certification and licensure.

Schedule :

Physician and APP 6a-6p Physician and APP 530p-630am

May work some weekends / holidays

Practice Setting : Medical, Surgical, Trauma

Trauma Level 2

Intensivist unit H2

Average Number of ICU Patients Per Day : 8-12 patient average

Rounding, admissions, very rarely discharges

Average Number of Inpatient (non ICU)

Patients per Physician per Day : 0-1 then the 1 would be transferred off the service

Average Number of Admissions per Physician per Day : Variable

Total Number of Beds : 32 open ICU - Hospitalist take care of many of the rest of the patients

Number of ICU Beds : Varies on census as not a closed ICU

Other Critical Care Physicians be Present During our Locum's Coverage : Yes

Locum Physician are Required to Supervise Other Health Care Providers : PA, NP, residents

Locum are Involved in Covering / Supervising Teaching Services : Residents - neurology, emergency medicine and internal medicine

Documentation System / EMR : EPIC
