Business Planner

The Business Planner supports financial planning activities for assigned retail accounts and collaborates closely with Sales, Demand Planning, Supply Chain Planning, and the retailer's Buying and Planning teams. This role partners with the Senior Planner to report on sales, margin, and inventory financials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Senior Planners and Account Executives to establish and achieve sales, margin, and inventory goals aligned with brand strategies.
  • Analyze weekly sales performance using retailer reports; monitor pricing and plans to optimize sales and protect margins.
  • Leverage tools such as store data, climate insights, volume groups, and overlays to identify growth opportunities.
  • Partner with internal teams to develop strategies that enhance sales and profitability, including inventory sell-off solutions.
  • Share selling trends, category insights, SKU recommendations, and seasonal opportunities with Design and Merchandising teams.
  • Maintain regular communication with Account Executives to address challenges and explore opportunities.
  • Forecast style-level demand and inventory needs using historical data and statistical models.
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses and support additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Collaborate with Demand Planning and Sales to develop assortment strategies.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure alignment with Weeks of Supply (WOS) targets and prior year benchmarks.
  • Participate in pre-season planning for Replenishment, Key Items, and Assortment development with Merchandising and Sales.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of planning experience.
  • Strong proficiency in retail math and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to solve financial and merchandising challenges.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills.
  • Capable of prioritizing tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
