JOB SUMMARY :

A leader who can work in a matrix organization and lead a team to modernize Data Platform Product Engineering, with the remit of data store (databases & big data) & data integration, business intelligence tools product engineering. Strong collaboration, communication, and execution on data platform product management framework that will focus data platform provisioning, migration to a modernized data platforms in the cloud. In the process, you will have exciting opportunities to grow as a thought leader and see your contributions have a tremendous impact on the business.

EXPERIENCE :

  • Extensive infrastructure and data platform product engineering experience with direct management of complex budgets and direct management of cross-functional teams and influence architecture, cloud engineering, security, and application development teams.
  • Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI / CD) of data platforms for self-service
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) such as Cloud Formation or Terraform
  • Developed and managed Product Capabilities that involved both cloud native and agnostic data platforms.
  • Extensive experience in technical engineering, architecture, and / or development roles
  • Proven track record of leading a flat engineering team modernizing data platforms in hybrid cloud.
  • Strong experience in consulting, financial services industry, or government regulatory agency
  • Supervisory experience and demonstrated leadership capabilities required.
  • Highly skilled expertise in designing and running a wide range of open-source tools and distribution engines.
  • Deep understanding of infrastructure automation, instrumentation, and full stack technologies
  • Proven experience building and managing teams of 30-100 members.
  • Extensive knowledge of DevOps techniques and strategies for both application and infrastructure builds and releases.
  • Expertise in cloud engineering and operations, Disaster recovery and business continuity planning
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS, and understanding of Azure Data Stacks
  • Collaboration with Global Teams
  • Experience is driving optimization through total cost of ownership (TCO) for the data platform products from contract negotiations, collaboration with internal corporate partners (sourcing, finance, cybersecurity, risk...), migration to modernized data platform products.
  • Expertise in creating data platform literacy through publications, office hours, confluent / SharePoint content creation, roadshows within the organization to drive adoption, maturity, and self-service capabilities.

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS

  • Thought-leader level knowledge in leading large-scale initiatives emphasizing the data and data platform strategy, design, and development of Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) cloud platforms that extend to private and public cloud deployment models with resiliency, risk and control governance and metrics, incident management, secure systems development lifecycle, vulnerability management, and data protection.
  • Expert experience with cloud management data platforms, data fabric / virtualization strategies, automation and orchestration strategies, public cloud data platforms, cloud capacity / performance optimization, and application migrations to a cloud agnostic and native data platform with a clear understanding of how an IT organization capitalizes upon data technologies to enable the business.
  • Experience leading transformational projects related to data platform to enable the technical capabilities required for a successful data strategy encompassing , platform design, engineering, operations, security, and digital adoption.
  • Experience leading client-facing business development at a C-suite level, engagement delivery, practice development, and thought leadership.

  • RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, engineer and drive implementation of modern cloud data platforms by following established processes and procedures.
  • Design and optimize product lifecycle management to drive modernization.
  • Set up, configure, and engineer and drive adoption & generate system improvements based on business needs.
  • Design recommendations to solve applications / data modernization and integration problems.
  • Manage each phase of data platform lifecycle to ensure its efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop security related policies and guidelines, applying and monitoring the implementation of a security infrastructure.
  • Participate in all phases of the cloud integration engineering life cycle; troubleshoot technical problems as they arise.
  • Document, analyze and merge all tasks and resources that are needed to execute an integration project.
  • Deploy virtual systems and network resources according to specifications based on established guidelines.
  • Provide technical training for end users on new integration models.
  • Deliver training documents on new system / software installations and configurations for junior staff and clients.
  • Apply DevOps strategies, designs, implementations, and tools / capabilities / functionalities.
  • Serve as a team leader by enabling teams to generate a vision, establish direction, create an atmosphere of trust, and leverage diverse views, while working collaboratively as a member of a team and executing independently.
  • EDUCATION

  • Degree or equivalent work experience equally preferable.
  • Degree in engineering, computer science, engineering, or technology related fields
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • The typical base pay range for this role is between $179K - $217K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and / or incentive compensation.
