Adjunct Faculty – Humanities and Social Science :

Humanities and Social Science includes but is not limited to : Arts, Education, English, Economics, History, Psychology, Philosophy, Spanish, Speech / Drama and Sociology.

Adjunct faculty teach a variety of day, evening and weekend classes. Responsibilities include teaching college level courses, which may include distance learning on and off campus courses during the day, evening and weekends.

Applicants should possess a Master's degree, have eighteen graduate semester hours in the discipline / prefix specific to the class, and a history of successful teaching or related experience. Certain developmental or technical courses may be taught by instructors with a Bachelor's degree, a special certification, and / or work experience. This is a continuous posting and applicants will be contacted on an as needed basis.

Adjunct / Continuing Education Faculty : The rate per credit hour will commensurate with education and relevant or teaching experience. The position is part time and as such is not eligible for health or leave benefits. Telework

According to DHRM policy 1.61 Teleworking , effective July 5, 2022, Virginia state employees will return to the workplace. Consistent with pre-pandemic policies, telework may be an option for certain eligible positions. KSA's / Required Qualifications

Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the specific teaching discipline.

Additional Considerations
