About The Position

Job Title : Cath Lab Specialist

Profession : RN

Shift : 8h Day Shift

Hours per Shift : 7 : 00 AM – 3 : 30 PM

Experience : 1+ years of experience preferred, 2+ years of both Cath Lab and IR experience preferred

License : RN - state license required

Certifications : BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS required

Must-Have : Associate Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor Degree in Nursing preferred

Description :

Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records, and clinical data.

Evaluate patients' responses and intervene to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Develop and implement patient plans of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic and diagnostic interventions, including but not limited to IVs, incision / wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.

Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect the health, safety, and rights of each patient.

Provide patient and family education through assessment of learning readiness, needs, and abilities.

Provide teaching and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching.

Recognize the patient or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for preferences, values, and needs.

Provide relationship-based care by striving to understand what is most important to the individual and actively engaging them in all aspects of care.

Deliver care with respect for cultural differences and diversity.

Delegate to non-RN personnel in accordance with state nursing regulations and hospital policy.

Use time, personnel, equipment, and supplies effectively to provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care.

Serve as a professional role model for all staff, demonstrating ethical and legal nursing practices.

Manage resources and patient flow by matching nursing competencies with unit needs.

Utilize standards of care, hospital policies, and regulatory guidelines to guide practice.

Function effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making.

Precept and mentor new staff or nursing students as needed.

Seek out learning opportunities and continuing education to maintain skills and competence.

Evaluate personal integrity and nursing practice in relation to professional standards and regulations, and take action towards identified goals.

Demonstrate commitment to the organization through ongoing participation in meetings.

Understand the value of measurement and the importance of continuous quality improvement data.

Use quality measures to improve performance and accountability for patient outcomes and safety.

Participate in unit-based quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and research activities.
