The Associate Engineer (Ops) will report to the Director of Technical Operations and work with field operating personnel to provide technical expertise and assistance. The role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work with various teams, including Area Directors, Operations Managers, Engineers, and Technicians.
Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for damage prevention and public awareness, high consequence area review, class location process, encroachment analysis and remediation, right of way maintenance coordination, shallow cover and exposed pipe management, and pipeline shut-out procedures.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Damage Prevention and Public Awareness : coordinate, administer, and document contractor, utility, and public awareness communications.
- High Consequence Area (HCA) : review and validate proposed HCA changes.
- Class Location Process : interact with Area personnel and Division / Houston GIS to determine the existence of sites or population density that may trigger class location changes.
- Encroachment Analysis and Remediation : lead role in addressing proposed encroachment activities by outside parties.
- Right of Way Maintenance Coordination : resource to area management for coordination of multi-year R / W maintenance programs.
- Shallow Cover and Exposed Pipe : review, mitigate, and provide estimation and project management on large remediation projects.
- Pipeline Shut-out Procedures : responsible for review and approval of pipeline shut-out procedures.
- Operations Technical Support : provide technical expertise in incident investigations and support for road and surface load calculations, blasting calculations, and welding technical support.
