Responsibilities
The Phlebotomist will assist the HarmonyCares Medical Group (HCMG) Physician in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management in a residential setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Serves patients by identifying the best method for retrieving blood samples and other specimens for laboratory testing, and performing screening proceduresVerifies test requisitions by comparing information with the clinician order and bringing discrepancies to the attention of LeadershipVerifies patient identification and explains sampling procedures to patientsObtains blood specimens by performing venipunctures and finger sticksMaintains specimen integrity by using aseptic technique, following department procedures and observing isolation proceduresTrack collected specimens by initialing, dating and noting times of collection and maintaining daily tallies of collections performedMaintains safe, secure, healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulationsServes and protects the hospital or healthcare facility community by adhering to professional standards, institutional policies and procedures, federal, state and local requirementsTakes vital signs as neededLabels, stores and properly packages specimens for delivery to labLogs patient information for accurate processing and testingLogs information in compliance with Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) standardsPerforms all clinical duties while observing OSHA and HIPAA requirementsPrepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatment (supply inventory, medical bag and car)Facilitates required Consent Form signatures as neededAttends required meetings and in-servicesSupports mission, vision and core values which include but not limited to delivering compassionate support, attention and assistance to patients, families and members of our teamIn this role you may work with. . .

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
High School DiplomaPhlebotomist CertificationCPR CertificationMust maintain a valid driver's license and good driving recordAbility to drive up to 150 miles daily in urban and / or rural settingFull range body motion including handling / lifting patientsAbility to lift / carry items weighing up to 50 lbsAbility to read and understand road mapsAbility to sit or stand for long periods of timeAdept at venipuncture, phlebotomy and finger sticksExcellent verbal and written communication and documentation skillsFamiliarity with electronic medical records (EMR)Experienced in appropriate IT technology such as IPad and GPSInterpersonal skills and compassionAbility to work independently, analyze information, think critically and problem solveAttention to detailProcedural and organizational skillsPreferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience
