Manufacturing Engineer Co-Op (Summer Term)

ETC is already hiring Co-Ops for the summer of 2026! This is an 8-9 month position for students starting in May / June 2025. The expectation would be for the student to take a semester off of school and work full-time with ETC!

Some of the duties you may be doing :

  • Design modifications or improvements to development projects with supervision
  • Maintain project reference documentation
  • Develop test and verification procedures
  • May be involved in continuing engineering maintenance and manufacturing floor support of existing products
  • Provide task completion time estimates
  • Attend identified training classes
  • Participate as a team member, work effectively in a team environment
  • Become familiar with tools and applications utilized by department
  • Learn department and corporate policies, procedures, and plans
  • Use Solidworks CAD software to design engineering solutions
  • Use programming such as Labview, C++, databases for engineering solutions
  • Assist in designing and developing new tools and jigs
  • Use Quick Response Manufacturing, Lean Manufacturing, and Lead-time reduction
  • Assist with development of process standards with affected departments
  • Assist in optimizing the layout and design of production processes and facilities
  • Analyze production processes; develop and implement process improvement plans
  • Analyze, test, and develop products and process improvements for cost reduction opportunities
  • Provide engineering support to manufacturing
  • Complete ergonomic and human factor studies to improve the workstation and work environment
  • Other tasks as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
  • 1-2 years post high school education in area of specialization
  • GPA : 3.0 or higher
  • Working towards a Bachelor's Degree in engineering field (industrial, electrical, mechanical, etc)
