Summary
Organizes and leads school-age children in a variety of activities in a wholesome, safe, fun environment on site during after-school hours. Provides positive growth and development opportunities for children, effective communication with parents, and an overall enjoyable experience for each child.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and / or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be at least 18 years old and have prior experience in and working with children.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information verbally in one-on-one situations.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must have current CPR and First Aid certification. Must attend YMCA Staff Orientation, child abuse prevention training, and other in-house child care training as determined by supervisor.
