Silver Springs Care Center is looking for an Occupational Therapist to join the team.
Job Summary :
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating, planning, directing, and administering occupational therapy treatments as prescribed by a licensed physician. The role includes providing therapy to restore function, prevent disability following injury or disease, and assist patients in achieving their highest level of performance and independence within their capabilities.
Key Responsibilities :
Direct and supervise Occupational Therapy Department staff, including certified staff, assistants, aides, students, and certification applicants.
Observe and evaluate treatment effectiveness; recommend changes to physicians when appropriate.
Perform patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and conduct reassessments in accordance with policy.
Develop and implement teaching plans based on identified learning needs; involve patients and families in the learning process.
Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in occupational therapy modalities.
Treat patients and families with respect and dignity; address psychosocial needs as appropriate.
Manage and operate therapy equipment safely; ensure department cleanliness and safety.
Collaborate with patients and families in the development of care plans.
Communicate effectively with physicians, staff, and the administrative team.
Coordinate and direct patient care to meet facility policies and patient needs.
Maintain accurate records related to staff and departmental operations.
Demonstrate flexibility, organization, and the ability to perform under stress.
Maintain strong working relationships within and across departments.
Collaborate with other departments to support patient care and performance improvement initiatives.
Meet all documentation standards and comply with policies.
Participate in staff education, training, and performance improvement inservices.
Assist with orientation and training of new certified staff members.
Provide evaluations for certified staff.
Qualifications :
Licensed Occupational Therapist (or eligibility for licensure).
Strong clinical and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
