Career Consulting Partners has partnered with one of the largest General Practice & Private Wealth law firms in Los Angeles, CA. With over 100 years of history, they remain committed to serving clients throughout the West Coast with specialization in a variety of law practices, including Trust Administration, Estate Planning, Corporate Law, Tax Strategy, and many others. They are seeking a mid-to-senior level attorney with a background in Employment Law on the defense side to join the team.

DEPARTMENT INSIGHT :

The Employment practice advises and defends management in all business and employee-related matters, such as PAGA defense, employment policies, employee handbooks, policies, and agreements, and much more. They represent clients from all levels of administrative agencies to jury trials in state and federal courts.

ABOUT THE ROLE :

As a mid-to-senior level Associate in the Employment group, you will be handling basic cases and outsourcing more complex cases only when needed. This role offers the opportunity to support business and / or business litigation while building their employment practice.

DUTIES :

  • Assist in managing all aspects of employment law matters on the defense side
  • Manage and defend employment law cases, with a focus on PAGA, wage & hour, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims
  • Provide counsel to clients on compliance with California labor laws and workplace best practices
  • Manage client relationships and collaborate with external counsel, delivering practical, business-driven legal solutions

REQUIREMENTS :

  • 4-6 years of experience practicing labor and employment litigation on the defense side
  • Prior experience with PAGA claims and wage & hour defense
  • Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to effectively interact with clients and counsel
  • Active California Bar admission
  • Detail-oriented and demonstrated ability to think critically and strategically
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment

    • COMPENSATION & BENEFITS :

  • Compensation : $160,000 - $200,000
  • Plus discretionary bonuses, and additional compensation for exceeding billable hours.
