Job description

Located just steps away from breathtaking views of the Statue of Liberty and other incredible sights in a super artistic community, we are a tiny catering company in red hook, brooklyn serving the local artisans, film & construction crews and creatives and are now looking to expand within our space. We provide offsite event and corporate catering, on demand lunches, espresso & tea and maintain a growing artisanal retail marketplace. We pride ourselves on scratch made, small batch cooking, local sourcing of ingredients & products and our sustainable approach to single use & other materials.

Job Description

We are seeking a full time FOH Operations Coordinator. This role requires a very detail oriented, high energy individual who is super friendly with guests, has a love of fine foods & beverages and can handle periods of high volume as well as manage their time appropriately during slower moments. The best candidates will have experience as a LEAD or other type of people mgmt and be able to work independently, be a solid multi-tasker as well as resourceful and efficient! This is NOT an entry level position.

Daily tasks include :

  • handling FOH tasks including barista, retail and customer facing transactions
  • managing the FOH team, including hiring, training, coaching, disciplinary actions & terminations
  • item creation, pricing and stocking of retail products
  • learning about and selling artisanal retail products, cheeses, gift baskets and other fine foods and wares
  • managing the admin tasks of a robust catering and wholesale business
  • captain offsite events, when needed
  • collaborate with ownership on other creative materials such graphics, fonts, holiday ads, tablescaping, visual merchandising, branched merch - we love creatives and welcome all ideas!

This is a very service oriented position so you must already have experience in this world and be able to demonstrate warmth, knowledge and appropriate hard and soft skills from the outset. Someone familiar with Red Hook would be ideal as this is a unique neighborhood and we get lots of requests for things to do from day trippers
