About the Role

We’re hiring a Hone Operator / Precision Machine Operator for a long-term position with a well-established industrial manufacturer in Houston, TX (77003) .

This position involves operating honing machines to finish and polish the inside diameters of metal parts with accuracy and consistency.

What You’ll Do

Operate digital and manual honing machines to meet exact tolerances.

Inspect and measure parts using micrometers and gauges.

Read blueprints and work order travelers to follow specifications.

Perform daily maintenance and keep machines clean and ready to run.

Safely move materials using jib and overhead cranes.

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workstation.

Report any quality or process issues to your supervisor.

Requirements

Must read and understand English and blueprints.

Experienced Operators : 1+ year honing, grinding, or machining experience.

Trainees : High school diploma or GED – 4 weeks of hands-on training provided.

Must have (or be willing to obtain) basic hand tools – payroll-deduction program available.

Pay & Advancement

Participate in company-provided training and demonstrate steady progress toward independent operation.

Qualifications

Must be able to read and understand English for documentation and drawings.

Experienced Operators : Minimum one (1) year honing or related machining experience required.

Trainee Operators : Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

Trainees will receive a minimum of four (4) weeks of hands-on instruction under supervision.

Readiness for independent operation is determined by the instructor.

Must possess or be willing to obtain required hand tools.

The company offers a tool purchase program with payroll deductions until paid in full.

Compensation & Pay Scale

Hourly pay is based on skill level and classification as outlined below :

Training & Evaluation

Training evaluation method : direct observation (minimum four weeks).

Continuous performance reviews to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
