Job Description
Position Purpose
Under guidance from the Manager, Supply Chain Optimization and Design - This role will be responsible for leading CHEP supply chain network optimization projects, analyzing the output, and recommending changes to reduce the roughly $1.6B direct cost spend for North America. This role will coordinate the timely gathering of accurate information, provide inputs for and conduct analysis in the llamasoft supply chain model, review the output, and work with the appropriate team to determine the achievable supply chain value based on the recommended changes. This role will also work closely with our current Planning and Operations teams to identify and implement flow optimization opportunities.
Major / Key Accounta bilities
Lead Supply Chain optimization projects using the LLamasoft Supply Chain Guru software
Gather feedback and leads on supply chain opportunities from partner teams in transportation, real estate, operations and planning.
Analyze various “what-if” supply chain scenarios to prepare a cost / benefit analysis of proposed change
Present findings to senior level management, and gain buy-in to the proposed recommendations
Evaluate new customer portfolios and TPM partnership opportunities for their impact to supply chain costs.
Analyze modelled lanes and compare with historical lanes to identify and lead cross-functional teams to implement flow optimization in our current network
Recommend opportunities for supply chain cost reduction for the local country through accurate modelling and optimization of the CHEP network
Develop implementation plans in coordination with local country to achieve agreed upon supply chain savings
Develop methodology to track savings generated through supply chain network changes
Develop and maintain relationships with key supply chain contacts
Develop expert-level knowledge in Supply Chain Guru software and lead cost analyses of potential modifications to the CHEP Supply Chain
Support modelling needs outside of the Supply Chain organization; including other business groups and various internal functions
Drive step-change improvements in model performance and functionality
Develop reporting and conduct meetings to share supply chain insights with internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
BS, BA or equivalent and 2 years related experience in supply chain or general business discipline
Experience
Minimum 2 years’ experience with supply chains
Minimum 2 years’ experience with data analysis / manipulation of large data sets
Skills and Knowledge
Strong analytical skills, including proficiency with databases
Strong knowledge of supply chain theory
Comfort collaborating with people in other countries, from different cultures, and where English is not their native language
Effectively communicate with all levels of people in the organization
Decision-making and problem solving skills
Effectively prioritize multiple goals
Strong project management skills
Work independently with little supervision
Strong Presentation and collaboration skills
Knowledge of the Llamasoft Supply Chain Guru software a plus
Knowledge of the CHEP North American Supply Chain highly desirable
