Warehouse Supervisor
The Warehouse Supervisor guides and controls warehouse activities to ensure accurate storage and distribution of raw materials and finished goods. Supervises timely delivery of merchandise in terms of the amount ordered, while maintaining the security of the warehouse. Provides a safe working environment through compliance with safety programs.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinates the planning and assignment of work, achieving efficient use of personnel and equipment.
- Maintains inventory and help establish inventory levels based on prior usage and future demand.
- Receives incoming shipments and packages from a variety of carriers and enters information into tracking system for disbursement.
- Inspects incoming deliveries for accuracy and quality based off the product order and reject any undesirable items.
- Supervises warehouse and inventory held within at all times to ensure security and upkeep.
- Develops and recommends improvements in current warehouse practices to promote efficiency, faster service, and lower costs.
- Provides training of warehouse employees and assist with selection of such employees.
- Uncrates shipments when required and properly disposes of, or stores, packaging as appropriate.
- Operates equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
- Assists with physical inventory counting.
- Daily receiving logs and rejection logs must be completed in compliance with receiving process.
- Signs invoices and checks off items being delivered in compliance with receiving process.
- Delivers product to other locations, must abide by all rules / regulations regarding driving / delivery safety.
- Rotation of stock in storage following proper safety protocols / guidelines.
- Completes temperature logs for freezers / refrigerators.
- Ensures freezers / refrigerators, loading dock, and storage areas are clean and organized at all times.
- Works in an environment that at times can be hot / humid or cold.
- Knows and complies with all company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, emergencies.
Qualifications
Requires 2-4 years of experience in a shipping / receiving supervisor role. Must maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record. Be able to demonstrate excellent communicate skills both verbal and written. Requires the ability to work independently with limited supervision. Requires the ability to follow basic safety procedures and precautions. Requires basic math and counting skills.
Work Environment
Primarily back-of-house? stockroom, loading dock, dish room, and dining area. Work conditions are inside of kitchen area and outside in storage areas and includes interaction with heated equipment, steam, loud noises, chemical products, and other at risk conditions. Job requires frequent heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling. Involves repetitive motion. This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and / or extended walking & standing. This role may also require uniforms and / or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
