Construction Inspector
This is a contract position with an opportunity to be hired full-time.
Integrity Trade Services is partnering with a local energy company to hire a Construction Inspector .
Job Location : San Antonio, TX 78215
Pay Rate : $43 / hour (DOE)
The Construction Inspector is responsible for monitoring, assessing, and verifying contractor construction activities to ensure full compliance with CPS Energy design requirements, specifications, applicable regulations (Local, State, and Federal), and industry best practices. This role plays a key part in ensuring that work is performed safely, efficiently, and in an environmentally responsible manner.
Key Responsibilities :
Act as a field liaison between contractors, the company departments, and customers as required.
Ensure contractor compliance with company's safety standards, specifications, procedures, and design requirements.
Monitor adherence to company-approved designs, coordinating any approved field modifications as needed.
Attend and actively participate in pre-construction planning meetings, construction status meetings, and post-construction reviews.
Conduct field investigations, inspect completed work, and address customer inquiries or concerns.
Identify and report any safety violations by contractors; take immediate action to stop unsafe work when necessary.
Collaborate with contract foremen to resolve issues and maintain project momentum.
Coordinate contractor activities with company entities and external third parties.
Ensure contractor work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Communicate all field changes and updates with designers and key stakeholders.
Conduct inspections of overhead utility lines to ensure compliance and safety.
Plan, coordinate, and track assigned work performed by contractors.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Solid understanding of safety protocols, company standards, and construction processes.
Flexibility to work extended hours and respond to emergency call-outs as needed.
Proven ability to manage time and prioritize effectively in a field environment.
Familiarity with company's construction standards and safety guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications :
Prior experience in overhead utility construction.
Journeyman-level experience or higher in overhead line work.
Background in arboriculture or horticulture (vegetation management experience).

Work Environment :
Primarily outdoor work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, or inclement weather.
Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, mechanical equipment, vibrations, and loud noise at job sites.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly.
Ability to climb ladders and stairs as required.
Frequent travel between work sites and plant locations.
