Travel Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse - $1,918 per week

A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. • Work 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend requirement for contract positions
• Patient ratios of 1 : 4 to 1 : 5 on day shifts and 1 : 5 to 1 : 6 on night shifts
• Unit has self-scheduling with 4-week schedule blocks
• May float between PCU units or to medical-surgical floors
• Work with bipaps, high flow oxygen, vapotherm, alaris pumps, cardiac drips, heparin drips, insulin drips, and peritoneal dialysis
• Handle wound vacs in conjunction with wound care
• Use Meditech documentation system
• Required dress code : black scrubs
• Perform hourly rounding on day shifts, every 2-hour rounding on night shifts
• Maintain AIDET standards and communication boards
• Procedures performed include peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, dobhoff / NG tube insertions, and central line dressing changes
• Required certifications : BLS, ACLS
• Must have critical thinking skills, EKG rhythm interpretation, and experience with cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips
• Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred along with peripheral IV skills
• Advanced skills needed include experience with stroke care, post cardiac catheterization care, tube feedings, and NG / dobhoff tubes Facility : This healthcare facility operates a progressive care unit with 59 total beds across two units.
