Scope of Position
The Christmas Kettle Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Christmas Kettle Fundraising Program. This includes, but is not limited to, scheduling and supervision of staff and volunteers, the placement and collection of red kettles, and assisting in the training of volunteers for kettle work. The Coordinator is familiar with volunteer recruitment and may speak in front of groups such as service clubs, schools, and Chambers of Commerce.

Work Environment : Work is performed in both indoor office and outdoor settings. The office is heated, ventilated, and quiet. Outdoor settings may involve exposure to wet and cold temperatures.
Physical Demands : Vision and hearing acuity may be corrected to within normal range; ability to communicate clearly; ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, run, jump, and twist on an intermittent basis. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Software-related Skills : Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook familiarity; working knowledge of database applications and ability to learn new software with basic training.
Language Skills : Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions; able to interact with diverse individuals in person and by phone.
Mathematical Skills : Ability to perform simple calculations and apply ratios and percentages in practical situations.
Performance Skills : Must be punctual, organized, self-motivated, flexible, and willing to learn and assist others.
Protect the Mission : Must complete the online course for this area and pass the background checks required by The Salvation Army for employment.
