Responsibilities

  • Facilitates process improvements between Supply Chain Services and Clinical Services. Coordinates and monitors consultative team efforts, related to outcomes, product conversions, backorders / substitutes, contracts, education and distribution process.
  • Supports Supply Chain needs of physicians, nurses, and support staff improving financial outcomes, refining business processes and enhancing quality as it relates to supply and service procurement.
  • Maintains close working relationships with Supply Chain Managers and Distribution to determine appropriate pricing contract terms, current supply levels and stock / non-stock distribution options.
  • Manages communications and supply management strategies with direction from the Executive Clinical Resource Director.
  • Provides support to clinical staff in performing tasks to develop and implement quality improvement regarding supplies, charges and labor practices.
  • Works with clinical staff and Supply Chain Services areas to develop processes to better support organizational logistics, goals and objectives.
  • Coordinates with vendors to evaluate and develop product conversions and follows through to prevent delays in established hospital practices and schedules.
  • Coordinates product trials, conversions and provides product information and support to clinical services, Medical Staff and Supply Chain Services staff.
  • Acts as a point of contact for vendors and clinical staff in need of product and contractual information. Communicates with clinical leaders and ancillary departments about opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Interacts with department managers and vendors in a professional manner. Works as a team member, makes sound decisions, works well under pressure and meets multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines.
  • Demonstrates commitment to quality service and responsibility for addressing customer-service issues. Respects the dignity and confidentiality of patients and Medical Center information.
  • Assists with a variety of quality assurance initiatives such as statistical reports, procedure manuals, case tracking reports and audits for Medical Center reimbursements as required.
  • Recommends and helps formulate improvements for Supply Chain Services
  • Participates in Supply Chain system-wide quality improvement activities by assisting surgical services with preference list updates and corrections, to ensure contractual utilization and maximize saving.
  • Performs cost benefits and validation of cost savings initiatives.
  • Assists with information gathering to prepare Request for Proposals.
  • Evaluates work assignments, set priorities and responds quickly and effectively to constantly changing priorities. Responds immediately in a positive manner when called upon for additional or special assignments.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse Licensure desired
  • Experience in Surgery - OR
  • Bachelors degree required. Masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of clinical experience required.
