Plumbing Shop Assistant Supervisor

We are seeking a Plumbing Shop Assistant Supervisor. Specific Duties & Responsibilities include reporting to the supervisor or other senior managers as required, liaising between the supervisor and other employees, and providing direction to staff whenever the supervisor is off-site. Additional responsibilities include inspecting contracted work as needed, reviewing all work orders before and after completion, providing mentoring / training to staff members, assisting in hiring and training new employees, developing training materials and conducting training sessions and workshops, monitoring both individual and team job performance metrics through Maximo (CMMS), informing supervisors of completed and outstanding work orders, providing staff with technical guidance and assistance, relaying productivity concerns to the supervisor, preparing work schedules, assisting with other administrative tasks when required, attending and participating in meetings regarding work to be done, attending training classes, and having the ability to respond to emergency needs 24 / 7 as required.

Minimum Qualifications include a high school diploma or general education equivalent, certifications or a professional license preferred, six years' experience in the indicated field, including two years' experience in a similar supervisor / lead role, a journeyman license (HVAC, Plumbing or Electrical) required, experience with liaising between management and employees, and a valid driver's license. Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma / graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Technical Qualifications & Specialized Certifications include comprehensive knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in installing, repairing, and maintaining equipment in the licensed trade, comprehensive knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work, ability to prepare estimates and order materials for maintenance and repair jobs, ability to exercise independent judgment in determining operating conditions, ability to plan, lay out, supervise, and inspect the work of subordinates, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, knowledge of energy management systems, ability to read blueprints and thrive in a construction environment, proficiency in monitoring and reporting job performance metrics, knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, excel (Microsoft products), and exceptional ability to motivate employees and foster teamwork.

Physical Requirements include significant standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
