Job Summary
A Med Tech Coordinates Resident care related to medications by working with all departments, the medical community, families, and administrative staff to provide the resident's needs with continuity and adherence to the scope of practice and licensure for the community. Provides complete supervision of the medication room, pass techniques, documentation and supervision, and provision of care related to medication in the community.

Resident charts. Keeping documentation current (Community forms, licensing documentation, physician orders, incident reports., etc.)Communicate resident status changeEnsure all medication documentation is current and correct, including, medication administration forms, physician orders, change of dosages, written orders to confirm telephone orders, etcEnsure the medication room is completely stocked with all required continuous, PRN, Over Counter (OTC), and other medications as ordered by the physicianCoordinate medication orders and deliveries with pharmaciesCommunicate with physicians and other healthcare providers as neededMonitor psychotropic med use is congruent with physician orders and ensure Resident behaviors warrant the use of medicationRegularly review, follow, and adhere to Resident care plansObtain / perform vital signs / weights monthly as directedControl medication room access and key assignmentPour, pass, and assist with the administration of medications in accordance with state regulationsCoordinate physician and other medical appointmentsRead all communication notes regarding the community between the Caregiver shiftsOther duties as assignedCustomer service
