Labor & Delivery RN Job Details Location : Augusta, Georgia 30901 Assignment Type : Travel Nursing Contract Start Date : November 10, 2025 End Date : February 16, 2026 Duration : 14 weeks Estimated Weekly Pay : $1,890 - $1,940 Shift : 12-hour night shifts (19 : 00 - 07 : 00), 3 shifts per week Hours per Week : 36 Unit : Labor & Delivery (16 beds, average daily census of 15, 6-bed triage) Scrub Color : Provided by facility Charting System : Epic (required) Floating : Yes, within hospital facility Weekend Coverage : 3 weekend shifts per contract Call Requirements : 2 calls per 6 weeks (AM & PM shifts) Time Off : Maximum 7 days requested time off (RTO) allowed Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (travel nursing experience required) Active Georgia or Compact State Registered Nurse license (must be in hand at submission) BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred Proficiency with Epic electronic charting system Experience with patient ratios of 1 : 1 or 1 : 2 in Labor & Delivery Ability to work major holidays as scheduled during the assignment Two supervisory references highly preferred at submission Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns, including high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and postpartum care Assist with vaginal deliveries, multiple births, and management of pregnancy-induced hypertension Perform and assist with procedures such as D&C, amnioinfusion, epidural anesthesia, and hemorrhage / shock interventions Administer medications and therapies including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives, and insulin drips Monitor fetal heart rate patterns using external and internal fetal monitoring equipment Support breastfeeding and lactation, provide newborn care, and educate patients and families Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and social services Float to other hospital units within the facility as needed Maintain compliance with all hospital policies and complete orientation and required training modules Discover rewarding healthcare jobs in Augusta, Georgia—where career advancement meets a vibrant lifestyle.
