Job Description :

Assist a dentist, dental resident, or dental student in treating patients as outlined in the State of Florida dental laws. Assist with dental operatory set-up. Assist chairside, providing dental support services. Work with faculty members and staff members to ensure the delivery of dental care to patients. Assist with routine operative procedures using nitrous oxide, hygiene procedures, and oral and IV sedations. Take impressions, place matrices, and wedges. Process dental x-ray film. Assisting with orthodontic procedures- taking out and putting in wires. Instruct students on the appropriate role of dental assistants in the delivery of patient care. Assist in various four-handed techniques, such as grasping and transferring instruments.

Greet and prepare patients for treatment. Establish rapport with the patient to relieve anxiety. Assist with communication between faculty / residents and Spanish-speaking patients. Maintain daily records and patient charts.

Taking and processing radiographs. Placement of fluoride varnish during hygiene appointments. Instruct patients in oral hygiene. Package and sterilize clinical supplies and instruments. Assist in organizing and controlling the use of clinical supplies.

Assist in surgical procedures at Physicians Regional Medical Center and / or Golisano Children's Hospital.

Maintain and clean operatory areas. Assist with stocking and ordering. Assist in training new dental assistants. Perform other related duties (as assigned).

Expected Salary : $16.00 - $18.00

Required Qualifications :
