About The Position

Experience : Minimum 2 years, traveler experience accepted for first-time travelers

License : NC or Compact license required

Certifications : BLS, Chemotherapy Certification (ONS / ONCC) preferred

Must-Have :

Experience in an inpatient setting is required.

Skills in Med / Surg, colostomy care, accessing ports, blood product administration, central line blood draw, peripheral line care / management, PICC line management, heparin, insulin, surgical drains, and chest tubes.

Knowledge in nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions, and wound care / wound vac.

Description :

This position requires skilled RNs for a medical surgical oncology unit.

Primarily caring for medical-surgical patients with an oncology history.

You will work with a target patient ratio of 1 : 6.

The role involves administering chemotherapy and biotherapy via IV, PO, or injection.

Common patient diagnoses include AKI, sepsis, cancer, septic shock, pain, and diabetic foot ulcers.

Daily census may reach up to 42 patients, and typical ratios may increase during times of high census.

You must be willing to float to similar units and alternate care locations as needed.

Working every other weekend is required.

The position may involve participation in a disaster response team during catastrophic events or mass casualties.

Attendance at monthly staff meetings is necessary.

Completed modules are required pre-start and annually.

Candidate must pass EKG testing prior to starting the role.

This role entails significant responsibilities and requires a commitment to patient care excellence.
