Overview
The Fabrication Production Worker plays a key role in supporting Maintainer Corporation’s production process by ensuring parts and assemblies are prepared to the highest quality standards. This position works closely with team members in the Fab and Weld departments to maintain a safe, efficient, and productive workflow. The ideal candidate takes pride in their craftsmanship, follows established processes, and contributes to Maintainer’s commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Prior experience working in a fabrication or manufacturing environment preferred.
Proven ability to safely operate grinders, sanders, chipping tools, and other power tools.
Understanding of basic manufacturing processes and quality standards.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret simple work instructions or diagrams.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
Forklift operator’s license (or ability to obtain one) preferred.
Familiarity with safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Job Responsibilities
Operate and maintain grinders, sanders, and chipping tools to de-bur and prepare parts for welding or assembly.
Assist in preparing IPOs, crane parts, and truck units for the weld department according to the manufacturing schedule.
Ensure all work meets customer specifications and Maintainer’s quality standards, emphasizing accuracy and efficiency.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, following all safety policies and using required PPE.
Move between workstations as needed to meet production requirements.
Identify opportunities for improvement and participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the Fab area.
Follow all company, departmental, and safety procedures as outlined in the Maintainer Employee Handbook and Quality Manual .
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience
Preferred : High school diploma or GED.
Equivalent work experience or technical training in a related field will be considered.
Demonstrated ability to safely operate tools and equipment commonly used in fabrication.
Communication and Teamwork
Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
Communicates effectively with coworkers and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.
Maintains a positive, cooperative attitude while contributing to a team-oriented work environment.
Displays strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new tasks.
Physical Demands
Must be able to lift and / or move up to 50 pounds frequently.
Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and use hands to handle or operate tools.
Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles.
Must be able to safely operate hand tools, power tools, cranes, and other special equipment.
