Fort Valley State University (FVSU), a state and land-grant institution of the University System of Georgia, invites applications for the position of Executive Director of Financial Aid.
Fort Valley State University, the only 1890 land-grant university in Georgia, is a comprehensive institution that provides an education to over 2,800 students including graduate students. The university is located in the town of Fort Valley in Peach County, the original site of the state's peach industry. Its 1,365-acre (5.52 km2) campus is Georgia's second-largest public university in area.

Job Summary
This position is responsible for directing the financial aid operations for Fort Valley State University. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all related state and federal regulations, establishing policies and procedures that ensure strong internal controls for maintaining the integrity of student-based fiscal processes, and implementing innovative approaches in support of students at this institution.

This position has direct supervision over the following assigned personnel : Assistant Financial Aid Director (1), Financial Aid Advisor (3), Financial Aid Assistant (1), and Customer Service Representative.
Guidelines
Guidelines include the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, the federal student aid handbook, Georgia Student Financial Commission state program regulations, the IRS tax guide, NCAA guidelines, the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administration guidelines, and university and Board of Regents policies and procedures. These guidelines require judgment, selection, and interpretation in application. This position develops department guidelines.
