Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Cardiovascular Sonographer II with at least one year of acute hospital experience and ARDMS or CCI certification.

Responsibilities

  • Position is within a hospital-based diagnostic services department
  • Duties include advanced echocardiography and vascular ultrasound procedures
  • Patient population includes adults, pediatric, and neonatal / NICU inpatients
  • Performs studies in both invasive and non-invasive settings, including operating room procedures
  • Three 11-hour day shifts per week, Monday through Wednesday, from 7 : 00 a.m. to 6 : 30 p.m.
  • Temporary-to-permanent position offered
  • Responsibilities include pre- and post-procedure patient assessment and emergency cardiac care
  • Equipment maintenance, calibration, and quality assurance required daily
  • Must generate, store, and retrieve ultrasound images and maintain accurate charts and records
  • Provides training and serves as a resource to peers
  • May be required to respond independently for emergent procedures on-call
  • Must prepare, clean, and reset procedure rooms between cases
  • Must report to designated vendor for drug screening within 24 hours of commitment
  • Background check, drug screening, and timely completion of all onboarding requirements are mandatory
  • License required if applicable

    • Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in an acute hospital setting
  • ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI (RCS, ACS, or RCCS) certification required
  • Accredited Associate’s Degree in Sonography, Radiology or related field, or completion of a 12-month ultrasound program
  • Proficiency in performing and interpreting cardiac and vascular ultrasound studies
  • CPR certification required
