A leading global real estate and project delivery firm is seeking a

Head of Projects

to oversee a high-performing project management team in the Washington, DC region. This is a senior leadership role for a results-driven construction professional with a strong background in general contracting and a proven ability to deliver complex projects from concept through completion.

About the Role

As Head of Projects, you’ll lead a regional team of Project Managers delivering commercial, institutional, and corporate build-outs across the DC metro area. You’ll be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring client satisfaction, and fostering a culture of accountability, agility, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of project management professionals delivering projects across diverse sectors.

Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, from preconstruction planning through closeout.

Serve as the strategic partner to clients, ensuring quality, cost, and schedule targets are met.

Implement best practices for project delivery, risk management, and operational efficiency.

Navigate and resolve complex challenges with a hands-on, solutions-focused approach.

Build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders.

About You

15+ years of experience in

construction and project delivery , ideally with a

General Contractor

background.

Proven ability to manage multiple project teams and small, or large-scale initiatives.

Strong leadership presence — able to influence, motivate, and drive accountability.

Resilient, bold, and resourceful — someone who doesn’t take “no” for an answer.

Adept at balancing strategic oversight with hands-on involvement when needed.

Sales mindedness, with strong financial knowledge and P&L management experience
