For more information, visit : www.gpinet.com Responsibilities : Perform roadway and bridge design tasks under the guidance of senior engineers Apply engineering principles pertaining to and in support of the detailed plans and construction documents Work in a team environment to develop contract drawings using MicroStation and / or AutoCAD Prepare technical design documentation, quantity take-offs, cost estimates and specifications Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance with contract documents Gain valuable experience in the design of roadway geometrics, intersections, sidewalks / trails, pavement design, drainage, erosion and sedimentation control, and work zone traffic control. Develop the knowledge required to produce design and construction documents for new and rehabilitated bridges using AASHTO and NYSDOT specifications. Participate in job site visits and attend project meetings Review and provide Quality Control (QC) for project engineering deliverables Interface with other technical disciplines Qualifications : BS Civil Engineering from an accredited university 0 to 4 years of experience on transportation projects within New York State including roadways, bridges, and trails New York State Engineering in Training (EIT) certificate preferred Master of Science with concentration in structural / bridge engineering beneficial Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Shall be self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn and grow professionally Must have a positive mindset and a good work ethic with a desire to learn and the ability to work in a collaborative environment. Good writing and communication skills a plus
