Job description

We are looking for an energetic and personable  Promotions Sales Assistant  to join our events team in NYC. In this role, you will focus on customer-facing sales at promotional activations, pop-up events, and retail partner locations. You’ll engage passersby, spark conversations, showcase telecom products and services, and help customers make confident purchasing decisions in real time.

Your primary focus will be driving sales through excellent in-person interactions and creating memorable promotional experiences that build customer loyalty.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and engage event attendees and shoppers in a friendly, professional manner
  • Listen to customer needs and recommend telecom products and services such as mobile plans, internet packages, device upgrades, and add-ons
  • Clearly explain product features, pricing, and promotional offers to help customers make informed choices
  • Guide customers through the on-site sales process—from initial interest to purchase or service activation
  • Assist in setting up, running, and breaking down promotional booths, signage, and displays
  • Operate point-of-sale systems to process transactions, service sign-ups, and promotional discounts
  • Build rapport with new and returning customers to encourage repeat business
  • Collaborate with fellow promotions team members to meet and exceed daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals
  • Stay up to date on product updates, plan changes, network features, and event-specific promotions through training and team meetings

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Prior promotions, events, retail, or in-person sales experience preferred but not required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable starting conversations with new people
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment for the duration of your shift
  • Comfortable using a point-of-sale system and basic digital tools (training provided)
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain a professional appearance and attitude
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and available to work on-site at events in NYC
