Duties & Responsibilities :
Provide services to students in academic, personal / social, and career development.Counsel students individually and in small groups.Teach classes in multi-grades with counseling curriculum based on the ASCA model.Implement a fully functioning counseling program for grades 9-12.Work with administrators on building-wide schedules.Act as 504 Coordinator for assigned students, managing all aspects of 504 implementations.Collaborate positively with staff, students, and families.Develop IEPs with exceptional education staff and parents.Encourage communication among teachers, parents, and community agencies.Refer students to intervention and academic programs, and community agencies.Interpret student records and transcripts.Create and input student schedules in Infinite Campus.Participate in parent / teacher conferences and IEP meetings.Use data to guide decision-making and ensure the counseling program meets student needs.Serve students in caseloads and conduct academic planning.Assist with graduation preparations and oversee career / trades trips.Coordinate programs like Gear UP and inform students about post-secondary options.Support standardized testing preparations.Lead district initiatives around SEBH and PBIS.Participate in school counseling activities and events.Utilize MTSS and PBIS frameworks, with training if needed.Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.Physical Requirements :
Sit, stand, speak, hear, see, and walk regularly.Occasionally lift / move items up to 50 lbs.Supervise students outdoors and indoors in various weather conditions.Implement crisis prevention strategies, including physical restraint if necessary.Work Environment :
Indoor and outdoor settings with variable noise levels.Possible non-air-conditioned rooms.Fast-paced environment with constant contact with students and staff.Responsibility for student safety and well-being.Qualifications :
Ability to work with a diverse student population.Computer skills : Google Chrome, Infinite Campus, Google Docs, Excel, PowerPoint.Additional Details :
