About the Role

The Company is in search of a Senior Counsel for IP and Competition to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a wide range of IP and competition matters, providing legal advice on software licensing, and overseeing a small patent portfolio. This role also involves managing and supporting litigation, particularly in the areas of IP, competition, and regulatory issues. The Senior Counsel will be a key player in the company's mission to promote an open and accessible internet, working closely with internal teams and external policymakers to advocate for greater choice and competition online.

Applicants must have a J.D. degree, be a member of a state bar in good standing, and have at least 8 years of relevant experience, with a strong background in IP and some experience in competition law. The role requires excellent collaboration skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a deep understanding of the technology sector, particularly in relation to open source, competition, and the impact of new technologies and regulations. The ideal candidate will be a trusted advisor to leadership and technical teams, with a proven track record of effective communication and the ability to build internal alignment to deliver comprehensive legal advice.
