Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring active OR licensure and ACLS, BLS, and TNCC certifications.
Responsibilities
Position is in the Emergency Room of an acute care hospitalLevel III trauma center with 21 ED beds and 1 trauma bayNight shifts from 1845–0715 with every other weekend requiredGeneral ED patient population with approximately 125 patients per day and a 4 : 1 patient ratioSeparate triage area and the expectation for travelers to perform triagePsych / seclusion rooms available and ER holds managed within the ERUses the Meditech charting systemTele monitoring is used and RNs are expected to read stripsNo floating or on-call requirementsED RNs manage their own holds and participate in patient triageSupport from 24 / 7 ED physicians, charge RN, house supervisor, and ED techsImaging staff transport patients for x-ray and CTAny color scrubs acceptable except purpleHoliday coverage is scheduled per contractNo call or standby requiredFacility may request a 90-day emergency license if neededReturning staff may not have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity in the past yearRequirements
Active OR RN license or Compact (NLC) license required at time of considerationTwo years of recent Emergency Department RN experience requiredCurrent BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required; PALS or ENPC recommendedAbility to perform EKGs and blood drawsParticipation in unit-based orientation required before first shiftReferences required : one supervisor reference from the last 12 months and one peer / supervisor reference from the last 3 yearsBenefits
