A well-known manufacturing and packaging company located in Bridgeview, IL is seeking a QC Lead. 2nd shift 4pm to 2am Monday - Thurs. some OT, pay $24 per hour
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Control Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance with industry regulations. This position requires a strong understanding of quality control processes, FDA regulations, and various quality systems. The Quality Control Associate will work closely with production teams to maintain product integrity and safety throughout the manufacturing process.
Responsibilities :
- Assist in the training of Quality Techs and designated Production personnel
- Organize and communicate daily tasks to Quality Team members.
- Identify, segregate, and assist in the disposition of non-conforming packaging materials and manufactured products. Disposition may include use as is; rework; scrap; etc.
- Communicate with vendors regarding non-conformances, including issuance of Supplier
- Corrective Action Requests (SCARs)
- Effectively communicate customer service representatives regarding production issues.
- Assist in the New Product Development / Initial Setup Request (NPD / ISR) Process, to include drafting and editing Customer Packaging Requirements (CPRs), attending development meetings, and participation in initial production set-ups and inspections.
- Serve as the point-of-contact on the production floor for both the Quality team and Production personnel.
- Request and / or initiate corrective actions to eliminate future non-conformance.
- Assist with the development, implementation, maintenance and documentation of QC
- Inspection Procedures and Records.
- Support Quality Manager in ensuring the calibration of laboratory measurement devices, suitability of test standards, and monitoring of instrument condition.
- Assist in performing and coordinating the calibration of all Laboratory equipment including those actions performed by Third Parties.
- Create, maintain and retain calibration documents and records for lab equipment
- Assist the Quality Manager in procurement of lab materials and supplies, management of laboratory and chemical inventories to meet quality system, customer and industry standards.
- Identify, document, and maintain records on blend nonconformance; and communicate any corrective action needed to the Quality Manager for review.
- Prepare Certificate of Analysis’ for customers.
- Authorize the release of Packaging Work Orders and supporting product information, used in the manufacture of finished goods.
- Perform and document laboratory product research and development, as assigned.
- Utilize and practice Risk Management Concepts and PDCA Techniques.
Requirements :
Minimum High School Degree1-2 years of quality control experience1-2 years of quality control leadership experienceWorking knowledge of various weights and measures.Ability to perform math computations of manufacturer’s specifications.Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repetitivelyAbility to stand 8-12 hoursFamiliarity with dimensional inspection gaugesSAP experience is a plus.Laboratory experience is a plus.Job Type : Full-time
