American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN with a current CA license, Level III NICU experience, and strong drip titration skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in a Level III NICU within an acute care hospitalUnit features 26 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1 : 2 or 1 : 1Primary patient population includes premature infants, high-risk deliveries, and surgical cases such as gastroschisis and sepsisNICU RNs titrate drips including dopamine, dobutamine, versed, and fentanylUses Cerner EMR; related experience is required12-hour day shifts starting between 7 : 00 and 7 : 30 AMEvery other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) is requiredHoliday coverage includes 1 major and 1 minor holidayFirst to float among travelers; may float to Nursery and Pediatrics (sister unit with 12 beds, low acuity patients)No call or standby responsibilitiesNICU RNs attend high-risk deliveries in Labor & DeliveryNICU has 24 / 7 in-unit neonatologist and respiratory therapist coverageEquipment includes oscillators, nasal CPAP, giraffe bassinets, atom incubators, and radiant warmersOpen bay area with monitors; RNs monitor telemetry on assigned patientsNo nurse aids are provided on this unitSelf-scheduling available by seniority with manager oversightScrub color is navyUnit-specific orientation includes 3 shifts with preceptor, plus 6 hours each in Nursery and PediatricsPrevious direct employees of CommonSpirit (including CHI / Dignity) in the past 12 months are ineligibleMandatory testing on sterile technique for Foley catheter and central line dressing changes will be administered on the first day of orientation\n \n Requirements\n
Active CA RN license required at time of considerationCurrent BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications requiredMinimum 3 years of Level III NICU experience is requiredDirect experience titrating required drips (dopamine, dobutamine, versed, fentanyl)Must provide two professional references : one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 yearsCopy of driver’s license requiredCompletion of unit-specific orientation with preceptorship required\n Benefits\n
