About The Position

Description :

The unit has transitioned to a virtual integrated care nursing model.

Nurses must work the assigned rotating schedule every other week.

The first week schedule includes Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday.

The second week schedule includes Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

The unit has 24 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 6 : 1.

Common diagnoses include congestive heart failure, diabetes, pneumonia, and chronic kidney disease.

Registered Nurses are required to read telemetry strips.

Telemetry monitor technicians monitor patients, but RNs must have the ability to interpret strips.

Charge nurses, house supervisors, and nurse educators are available for support.

Patient care technicians will be present on the unit with a ratio of 12 : 1.

Common equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen.

Weekend work is required every other weekend.

Staff will float to all medical-surgical units as needed.

Holiday coverage is required.

Navy blue scrubs are the dress code for the unit.

Unit / Department specific orientation will be completed.
