Mill Operator
D&D Commodities, a business unit of Central Garden & Pet Company, is a leader in the bird food manufacturing industry. We are searching for a Mill Operator for our Argyle, MN location. This position is essential in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of receiving and processing commodities and mill equipment, contributing to the production of high-quality products. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and able to work in fast-paced environments with tight schedules and deadlines.
Shift Details :
- First shift : Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 am – 5 : 00 pm.
- Full-time position, with potential for some overtime and weekend shifts.
Location : Argyle, MN
Key Responsibilities :
Receive and test commodities, unload trucks, and transport materials to designated bins in a timely and efficient manner.Operate and monitor mill machinery to clean and process incoming commodities in a safe and responsible manner.Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting, clear jams, and resolve obstructions in machinery when necessary.Safely operate forklifts, skid steers, and tractors to move materials, transfer commodities, and assist with silo clean-up.Perform quality control checks and tests to ensure product consistency and compliance with standards.Monitor and regulate commodity flow to ensure optimal product quality and continuous mill operation.Accurately weigh and measure ingredients, maintaining detailed records.Clean and maintain indoor and outdoor work areas, machinery, and commodity handling areas, adhering to all safety and sanitation regulations.Qualifications :
Must be able to lift up to 50-75 lbs.General mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues with minimal supervision.Forklift proficiency. Ability to obtain forklift certification onsite.Regular and reliable attendance, strong attention to detail with good organizational and communication skills.Ability to climb and work at heights, work in a constant state of alertness, in a team environment, and take initiative.Basic math skills for measuring and recording ingredient quantities.Minimum Experience & Education :
High school diploma, GED, or relevant work experience preferred.1+ years of experience in a manufacturing, agriculture, or grain handling environment preferred.1+ years of machine operation experience in a production facility preferred.Working Conditions :
Work environment includes a non-climate-controlled warehouse production facility, with frequent proximity to moving mechanical parts, product irritants / allergens, airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions.Occasionally, tasks may involve climbing, working at heights, in confined spaces, and amidst moderate noise levels.Allergy Notice :
