Travel Nurse RN - Labor & Delivery - $2,404 per week in Rapid City, SD

Job Title : Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery Profession : Registered Nurse Specialty : Labor and Delivery Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift : 36 Experience : Minimum of 2 years Labor and Delivery experience, preferably in a high acuity unit. License : Registered Nurse (RN) - must be licensed in the state of practice. Certifications : BLS, NRP required; ACLS and certification in inpatient obstetrics preferred. Must-Have : - EPIC charting experience - Competency to manage high acuity labor patients, including but not limited to preeclampsia and preterm labor - Ability to care for couplets - Level 2 nursery baby experience is highly preferred - Skills in IV starts, cervical checks, phlebotomy, magnesium sulfate administration, blood administration, insulin management, C-section circulation, and recovery care Description : The unit has 10 labor and delivery beds, 4 OB triage beds, and 4 antepartum rooms. We accept a wide range of pregnant patients, including those with various risk factors and complications. We care for high-risk patients as well as low-intervention laboring patients. Patient ratios include : - Antepartum : 1 : 3 - Inactive Labor : 1 : 2 - Active Labor : 1 : 1 - Postpartum / Couplet care : 1 : 3 couplets Nursing staff may be required to work in postpartum / couplet care throughout the contract. Candidates should be comfortable with variable shifts, including day and night shifts. Weekend rotation is expected every other weekend, with holiday work required as needed. A supportive team including dedicated obstetric physicians and anesthesia staff is available 24 / 7. The unit utilizes a verified charting system for patient records.
