Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Associate Dean, to teach conventional machining, CNC machining set-up and operations in a related and laboratory atmosphere; and to provide general support and curriculum assistance to learning activities in related subjects in the area of machine tool operations and programming. Related duties include participation in division and department activities and the performance of other duties as assigned.
- Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching-related activities.
- Manage the classroom / laboratory.
- Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.
- Manage equipment, supplies and materials.
- Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.
- Collaborate with advisory committee in program area.
- Attend departmental and institutional meetings.
- Promote the education / training program, participate in efforts to recruit and retain students, and participate in efforts to market MATC.
- Support student organizations and activities.
- Develop relationships with business and industry.
- Complete program evaluation and follow-up.
- Maintain certification, continue professional development and stay current in field.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Only those who meet all of the base minimum requirements listed below will be considered.
Educational Minimum Experience :
Must have completed a Wisconsin Indentured apprenticeship in Machine Tool or Tool and Die; ORMust have completed an Associate or Bachelor Degree in Computer Numerical Control or related field (example; Manufacturing / Industrial engineering)Occupational Minimum
Experience : In addition
to the Educational requirement.
Candidate must have a minimum of five (5) years full-time or equivalent (10,000 hours) of relevant work experience in CNC programming including CAM experience.In addition , at least ONEof the following must be met :
At least one year of work experience must have occurred within the last five years; OR,
Two years of teaching Numerical Control course work at the post-secondary level within the past five years{One (1) year of teaching experience equivalent two (2) semesters full-time of four (4) semesters part-time}
Preferred Licensure in ADDITION to the minimum requirements listed above :
