A private firm owned by a group controlling $6 billion in assets, with a 15-year tenure in technology and real estate development, Prime provides customers with ownership options and dynamic leasing models, defining a true corporate partnership. www.primedatacenters.com Position Summary : The Director of Physical Security is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all aspects of physical security operations for Prime Data Centers across multiple locations. This role ensures the protection of critical infrastructure, personnel, and assets, while maintaining the highest standards of security compliance and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities : Security Strategy & Leadership : Develop and implement a comprehensive physical security strategy for all Prime Data Centers locations. Lead and manage the security team, including security managers, coordinators, and third-party vendors. Ensure alignment with the company’s operational goals and compliance with all regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS, HIPAA). Stay updated on the latest security trends, technologies, and risks affecting the data center industry. Risk Assessment & Mitigation : Conduct regular security risk assessments, vulnerability analysis, and audits for all data center locations. Identify and mitigate physical security risks by implementing best practices and proactive measures. Collaborate with other departments (e.g., IT, compliance, operations) to ensure security risks are addressed in a holistic manner. Access Control & Surveillance Systems : Oversee the design, installation, and management of security systems including access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and alarm systems. Ensure all systems are regularly tested and maintained for optimal performance. Establish protocols for monitoring and responding to security incidents. Incident Response & Crisis Management : Develop and lead the incident response protocols for physical security breaches or incidents. Coordinate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and other relevant authorities as necessary. Lead crisis management efforts for physical security-related incidents, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Compliance & Regulatory : Ensure all data centers meet industry regulations and certifications, including ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA, and PCI / DSS. Prepare for and manage security audits and inspections by regulatory bodies or clients. Keep detailed records of all security-related incidents, audits, and risk assessments. Vendor & Budget Management : Manage relationships with security vendors, contractors, and consultants. Oversee security-related budgets, including procurement and maintenance of security systems, equipment, and personnel. Ensure cost-effective security solutions while maintaining high-quality standards. Training & Development : Develop security awareness programs and provide training for staff on physical security protocols and emergency response procedures. Ensure security personnel are properly trained and certified in relevant areas. Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field (Master’s preferred). 8+ years of experience in physical security management, preferably within data centers, critical infrastructure, or high-security environments. Deep understanding of security frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA, and PCI DSS. Experience with access control systems, video surveillance, and other security technologies. Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams. Proven ability to conduct risk assessments and implement security policies. Excellent crisis management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Relevant certifications such as CPP (Certified Protection Professional), PSP (Physical Security Professional), or CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) are a plus. Working Conditions : Frequent travel to various data center locations. Ability to respond to security incidents at any time (on-call availability). Physically able to oversee security operations, including walking, standing, and occasionally lifting.
