Salary : Job Purpose :
The Control Panel Technician is responsible for the wiring and final assembly of control panels,
including panel layout, part assembly, testing, and wiring.
Job Duties and Responsibilities :
- Wire and assemble control panels quickly and accurately while following schematics and
meeting quality standards
Operate hand and power tools necessary for wiring, assembly and related activitiesMaintain a clean and safe work environmentReview work to ensure accuracy of wiring, assembly and build qualityMay require the operation of forkliftCrate completed panels for shipmentInfrequent travel may be required to make panel changes or to assist with systemcommissioning
Knowledge and Skill Requirements :
Education in electrical field or the controls industry field (experience in related field may besubstituted for formal education)
Good work ethicComputer skills and ability to read electrical drawingsTechnical aptitudeAbility to work with toolsWillingness to learnElectrical Safety Training Requirements :
This position requires NorthWind Tier B Electrical safety training. Completion of the NorthWind Tier B Electrical safety training allows the employee to perform electrical activities up to 250 volts in the NorthWind Panel Shop or at a customer site. Training to be completed upon hire and during onboarding.
Preferred Qualifications :
Associates degree or certificate in electrical, controls or related technical program requiredExperience in a related field may be substituted for formal education if the experience isspecifically relevant to the position
