Job Objective : Ensure the efficient processing and preparation of our perishable dairy products through the sustained supervision of raw processing lines and respective teams. Execute consistent quality standards and operating procedures which maximize profitability and guarantee the achievement of Company quality goals.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Directly supervises functions of the Raw Process / Prep team; ensures operation of continuous flow or vat-type equipment to process milk, cream, and other dairy products, following specified methods and formulas, within established standards of quality. May assist with supervision of other teams during lapse in coverage
- Works with Ops leadership and Planning teams to ensure that raw processing is scheduled effectively for daily preparation within established standards, adjusting procedures as needed and using knowledge of machines and equipment
- Monitors and requisitions requisite raw materials and production needs to ensure efficiencies
- Ensures raw processing equipment is working properly and notifies maintenance team of any issues immediately
- Inspects work in progress and work completed, testing products, and verifying code dates for accuracy, to ensure conformance to all established quality specifications
- Ensures minimization of raw milk losses and protects the finished goods inventory
- Effectively communicates continuing events to peer supervisors / team and / or following shift team
- Ensures that pertinent data reporting is completed a timely manner - receiving logs, raw milk tests, temperature, pressure, and volume readings, and other data, as required or requested
- Monitors employee performance and all compliance related to rest and meal / lunch periods
Training and Development / Safety
Train and develop processing team members on proper procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation, guiding with a consistently positive disposition and personal high-quality work ethic.Manage performance and annual evaluations process for all direct reports.Consistently work in a safe manner and comply with all health, safety, and security requirements that are communicated to you, whether established by the company or by law.Enforce safety regulations and practices to maintain a safe working environment. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role within a food processing or manufacturing environment, required; within dairy industry is strongly preferred.Knowledge of food safety and GMP regulations; HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) certification or similar food safety certification strongly preferred.Familiarity with automated processing systems and machinery and basic troubleshooting skills and ability to calmly respond to equipment or other problems, and find solutions.Proficient knowledge Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Teams, required.Familiarity with RedZone operational efficiency platform, ERP (Business Central), and HRIS systems, required.Basic business math to verify accurate counting / tracking of inventories and be able to convert measurements.Fluent proficient English, required. Spanish / Bilingual, preferred but not requiredMilk Pasteurizer license is required for this position; must be attained within 90 days from start date.COMPETENCIES

Primarily based in a manufacturing facility with routine time spent on the production floor.Ability to withstand noise produced by machinery, up to 90 decibels.Ability to read, analyze and interpret business documents.Ability to communicate via speech, writing and hearing with employees, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.Full organoleptic (sight, smell, taste) senses are required to evaluate and make sound decisions on product quality and production processesAbility to work on a computer and look at a computer screen for extended periods of time.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.Extended periods of standing, sitting, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, hands, and fingers. - Repetitive at times.Occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 30 pounds.The ability to climb and balance is essentialAbility to work in confined spaces.Ability to withstand temperatures ranging from -20° to 100° Fahrenheit.Working in cold, wet, humid environments and in high allergen environments is essential.WORK LOCATION & SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS
This position is based in Rohnert Park, CA. Work schedule is typically Tuesday through Saturday and hours vary.Flexibility to work different shifts when required, to be on call after hours, and to work weekends and all holidays is required.This role is not eligible for remote work.
