Senior Software Engineer - Media and Streaming

Location : Nashville, TN; Austin, TX; Broomfield, CO

As a Senior Software Engineer in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, you will have the opportunity to solve challenging technical problems and contribute to the development, delivery and operation of cloud services that enable delivery of novel consumer video applications. This role focuses on design, implementation and operation of cloud services for the digital media production industry. Product areas include virtual animation workstation service, digital asset management, high performance storage, render farm as a service, license management and production pipeline management services.

This is an opportunity to help build a competitive offering from the ground up and extend OCI to address green field opportunities in the media and entertainment industry. You will work with a team of software developers to design scalable, highly available cloud services in a world class cloud development environment. Prior experience in enterprise software development, delivery and operation of cloud services is essential. Domain knowledge in media production pipeline infrastructure is a plus. This is an individual contributor role requiring a track record of success and technical depth, with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Cloud service design for availability, scalability, observability and testability.
  • Implementation, validation and documentation of services and their component microservices.
  • Collaborate within the engineering team to deliver and operate cloud services that enable animation, film and game development studios to run production workflows in the cloud.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices, ensuring compliance and driving innovation.
  • Launch new cloud services and establish operational excellence.
  • Work to realize and achieve the technical vision of the team.
  • Engage with geographically distributed engineering teams.
  • Ensure compliance with software development standards, processes and best practices.

Qualifications

  • BS / CS in Computer Science or related field and 3+ years of software development experience with modern programming languages.
  • Experience with large / enterprise scale software development and engineering, particularly with cloud services and distributed systems.
  • Domain knowledge of media production workflows : digital asset management, namespaces, 3D frameworks, universal scene description, scene graphs, layers and models, 3D data packaging, rendering workflows, image composition, and tools used by artists, engineers and editors is a plus.
  • Experience collaborating with geo-distributed teams.
  • Training and experience in software implementation, code and design review, and root cause analysis of failures.
  • Designing for availability, observability, scalability, testability and recoverability.

  • US : Hiring Range in USD from $79,200 - $178,100 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
