Catalyx is seeking an Automation Engineer to be responsible for 24 / 7 / 365 automation support.

Key Responsibilities

System Monitoring & Support

  • Provide 24 / 7 / 365 coverage of the Automation Emergency Support Line.
  • Monitor OSI-PI notifications for system disruptions :

o    On-site hours : Continuous monitoring

o    Weekends and holidays : Review notifications once per day

  • Respond to all Urgent and Emergency Corrective Maintenance (CM) Work Orders (WOs) in SAP, checked daily at 06 : 00 and 12 : 00 on non-holiday weekdays.
  • Review the Work Order review spreadsheet prior to the 09 : 00 Daily Performance Meeting each weekday.

    • Meetings & Communication

  • Attend the Daily Performance Meeting (½ hour) to report on :

    • o    Automation system availability and site impacts

    o    Urgent and Emergency CM Work Orders

    o    Preventive Maintenance (PM) status and upcoming PMs

  • Respond to all emails sent to the Automation Support Distribution List during on-site hours by end of business day with at least an acknowledgment and plan for resolution.

    • Account Management

  • Review user account requests and set up new user accounts after verifying completion of required training.
  • Conduct bi-annual user account reviews as part of PM activities.

    • Preventive & Corrective Maintenance

  • Complete and report status of Preventive Maintenance (PM) Work Orders weekly, including :
  • Complete Corrective Maintenance (CM) Work Orders and provide weekly status updates.

    • Documentation & Compliance

  • Perform periodic reviews of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs) by :

    • o    Conducting mock executions to verify accuracy

    o    Redlining and submitting updates to document control (KB Comm)

    o    Ensuring SOPs / WIs are approved and effective before due dates

  • Additional Systems :

    • o    Millipore FIT Integritest 5 v1.4

    o    RAMAN Runtime 6.2

    o    SynTQ FM 5.3.0.106

    o    Siemens Desigo CC v4.2

    Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience supporting automation or process control systems in a regulated manufacturing environment (pharmaceutical or biotech preferred)
  • Strong understanding of SCADA, DeltaV, and data historian systems (OSI-PI)
  • Familiarity with SAP, CMMS systems, and IT / OT integration principles
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and participate in on-call rotations for 24 / 7 coverage
