Position Highlights :

  • Competitive salary range of $19.39-$23.76 per hour, DOE, with potential for higher pay for highly experienced candidates.

  • Schedule : Pharmacy hours are from 8 : 00 am to 7 : 00 pm, with no weekends required. Must obtain a Pharmacy Assistant license. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

Your Responsibilities :

  • Answer phone calls, address non-professional inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate team members.
  • Input patient data and billing information accurately into the system, including patient name, insurance details, allergies, physician, and diagnosis.
  • Deliver medications to patients, ensuring correctness, and collecting payment and signatures.
  • Coordinate any necessary prescription counseling with the Pharmacist.
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders for restocking based on set thresholds. Confirm order quantities and manage order submissions to the wholesaler.
  • Receive and verify product orders against invoices and purchase orders. Label items and store them appropriately.
  • Regularly check expiration dates on stock medications.
  • Return or dispose of unclaimed prescriptions according to state regulations, and document reverse billing as permitted.
  • Process prescription refills as applicable, ensuring compliance with state regulations.
  • Complete third-party billing forms and liaise with providers regarding prior authorizations as necessary.
  • Perform clinical tasks in alignment with The Joint Commission (TJC), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and organizational standards.
  • Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required.
  • Minimum one year of experience in pharmacy assistance, office administration, patient care, or customer service is essential.
  • State registration as a Pharmacy Assistant must be obtained within 60 days of employment, or an active Pharmacy Intern License is acceptable.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, with a communication proficiency level of 9 on the ALTA scale.
  • Pre-employment drug screening is mandatory after a conditional job offer.
  • Strong verbal and listening communication skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial.
  • Ability to handle administrative tasks such as phone management, filing, and document processing.
  • Team-oriented and capable of thriving in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail while managing multiple tasks.
  • Basic computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Office, is desired.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy software is preferred.
