Job description

The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing general accounting operations, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role requires strong analytical skills, in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties and competencies are essential for success in this role :

  • Strong understanding of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of inventory and cost accounting principles
  • Timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations
  • Oversight and execution of Accounts Payable processes, including invoice processing and payment issuance
  • Management of Accounts Receivable processes, including customer correspondence, collections, and statement generation
  • Treasury management, including ACH and wire transfers
  • Completion of bank reconciliations
  • Maintenance and tracking of fixed assets
  • Participation in financial and other accounting-related audits
  • Support in other accounting functions as assigned

  • Timely and accurate documentation of all work performed
  • Maintenance of complete and well-organized accounting files

    • DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Meticulous attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to sort large amounts of data (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc) :
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar organization)
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to adapt and work independently
  • Team-oriented, with a willingness to assist in other departmental areas when needed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in finance / accounting roles
  • Minimum of 5 years' hands-on experience in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
  • Minimum of 5 years managing teams or direct reports
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (equivalent experience may be considered)
  • Experience in the automotive industry preferred but not required

    • 80,000 - $85,000 / year salary
