The Lewis and Gaines Center for Inclusion and Equity (LGCIE) is an administrative department dedicated to providing services and programs that contribute to the success of students of color at Bridgewater State University. Through specialized programming, support, social, and cultural events, the department supports all BSU students in achieving their academic goals and enriching their cultural and social belonging experiences.

Position Information :
The LGCIE Ambassadors work on behalf of the center to promote the center and connect students of color with its staff and resources. They will work closely with other student employees to support the professional staff in carrying out LGCIE's mission and goals. Therefore, they must understand the mission and have a broad knowledge of the services, initiatives, and programs provided for intellectual students at BSU by LGCIE. Ambassadors must be good communicators, approachable, and welcoming to influence prospective and current students to connect with the center and benefit from the resources provided. In this position, you will interact with prospective students, families, visitors, etc., as well as hand out promotional swag.
The LGCIE Ambassadors must always conduct themselves professionally. This includes punctuality for shifts, wearing appropriate clothing, wearing nametags, working collaboratively with other staff, fulfilling all job responsibilities, interacting positively with current students, prospective students, families, and visitors, etc. Ambassadors will fulfill the role of Office Assistants when needed in the general office. They must prioritize the position as a job and report any schedule conflicts to their supervisor, the Assistant Director.
