Woodrow is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Aerospace Screen Printer.

Job Description :

Responsible for performing high-precision screen printing operations on aerospace-grade materials to meet stringent industry standards and customer specifications. This specialized position requires expertise in printing on diverse substrates including polypropylene, polycarbonate, aluminum, and stainless steel while maintaining compliance with AS9100 and customer-specific aerospace requirements. You will operate advanced screen-printing equipment, manage complex surface preparation processes, and ensure precise color registration and print quality for mission-critical aerospace applications. This role demands exceptional technical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and comprehensive knowledge of aerospace printing standards to support our reputation for excellence with Fortune 500 aerospace customers.

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities :

Screen Printing Operations :

• Equipment Setup and Operation : Set up and operate screen printing equipment for aerospace-approved substrates, ensuring proper alignment and configuration for each job.
• Substrate Preparation : Prepare surfaces using approved aerospace methods including solvent cleaning, flame treatment, and corona treatment to ensure optimal adhesion.
• Ink Management : Select and mix inks that meet aerospace specifications for durability, UV resistance, chemical resistance, and temperature performance requirements.
• Print Quality Control : Maintain precise registration and print quality for single- and multi-color jobs, ensuring consistency throughout production runs.

Process Control and Compliance :

• Curing Operations : Follow established curing processes per aerospace standards, including UV curing and oven curing at specified temperatures and durations.
• Quality Inspection : Conduct thorough in-process and final quality inspections, including adhesion testing, opacity checks, and dimensional verification.
• Documentation and Traceability : Maintain complete documentation of lot numbers for inks, screens, and substrates to ensure full material traceability for aerospace requirements.
• Specification Compliance : Interpret and follow technical drawings and customer specifications to ensure all products meet aerospace industry standards.
• Standards Compliance : Ensure all printing operations comply with AS9100 quality management system requirements and customer-specific standards.

Workplace Excellence :

• 5S Implementation : Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S principles and aerospace manufacturing standards.
• Safety Compliance : Follow all safety protocols when handling hazardous materials, operating equipment, and working with aerospace-grade chemicals and solvents.
• Material Handling : Properly store, handle, and dispose of inks, solvents, and other materials according to safety data sheets and environmental regulations.
• Equipment Maintenance : Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of screen-printing equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Qualifications :

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Technical certification in printing or manufacturing preferred
• 2+ years of screen-printing experience, preferably in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing
• Knowledge of AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality management systems
• Experience printing on plastics, metals, and other aerospace-grade substrates
• Proficiency in ink mixing, viscosity control, and various curing methods
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills
• Strong attention to detail and quality control practices
• Strong understanding of surface preparation techniques for aerospace applications
• Preferred :
• NADCAP process experience for special coatings or printing
• Familiarity with large-format and precision aerospace printing
• Experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and the 5 Why method
