Travel Nurse RN - Labor & Delivery - $2,171 per week in Lees Summit, MO

The nurse-patient ratio is typically 1 : 1 but may vary based on patient acuity. Daily census averages 7-10 patients, and patient assignments are based on acuity. The facility has 11 labor rooms and 5 triage rooms. The unit also includes a postpartum area with 15 rooms. The nurse may assist with vaginal deliveries and C-sections. Experience with low-risk deliveries and high-risk delivery assistance is required. Familiarity with medication administration, such as Pitocin and magnesium sulfate, is necessary. Nurses must have skills in neonatal resuscitation and postpartum care. Must be able to provide couplet care for postpartum mothers and babies. The position requires weekend shifts and on-call duty as needed. Candidates should be willing to float to other units as necessary. No first-timers accepted. The RN will be expected to participate in patient education and support breastfeeding. Familiarity with EMR systems is required. All candidates must pass a drug screening. References from recent work experience are required. Additional training may be needed prior to starting.
